I am 12 Weeks Post surgery today.
I feel good for the most part. I started my weightloss journey about a year ago. I lost 45lbs within the year, and I’m down 40lbs since surgery.
I think im getting a bad case of vertigo when I get up, or if I sit or lay down to fast. I’m struggling. Especially when I stand my ears start ringing and I get really dizzy. Sometimes feel like I’m about to pass out which is really scary especially when by myself with the kids.
I also am still having pins and needles down my left leg since surgery. Anyone else?

umm possibly a vitamin deficiency? Are you eating enough, drinking enough? I would follow up with your bariatric team & see whats going on.

Hi Haylee,

We are absolutely here to give you support, but we can't give medical advice under any circumstance. Each of us is different, as are you, and although we might have vertigo or pins & needles, no one should conclude that's because of surgery. If anything new happens, make a note of it and even keep a journal--when, why, how it happens, etc.--and take that list to your doctor when you go in for aftercare.

Please, and this goes for everyone, do not try to diagnose yourself. You're not a doctor (or if you are, you probably aren't a medical expert in the field of weight-loss surgery). It's so dangerous to reach an expert conclusion when you're not an expert. You should have follow-up care as part of your surgical care. If not, you should contact the medical facility and inquire about possible scholarships or financial assistance to cover when you can't. I got a scholarship because my insurance only paid 80%.

WLS is major surgery. Go into it believing that you need medical care before, during and after.

Best of luck to you.
