Protein Shakes

Can I please get suggestions on protein shakes? What kind do you recommend?
I like the Premier Protein chocolate shake. Chocolate is the only flavor I've tried, but I've heard from many people that cafe latte and cookies and cream are yummy. Premier shakes have 30 mg protein.

I also like Slim Fast High Protein, chocolate and vanilla. Unfortunately, it only has 15 mg protein. It does seem to assuage my hunger better, though.

I loved the premier shakes before surgery. I found six flavors I enjoyed. After surgery though I can only stomach about two of the flavors and even then I'm drinking them so fast I don't have to taste them. I still recommend but don't buy to many before surgery because you never know what you'll like after!

Hello Connie, I did buy a few different brands. The premade Premier Shake chocolate and peanut butter had an after taste and a fake smell (for me). I mix my own shakes using Premier Protein Powder, 150 calories and 30 protein, with 1 sugar, I use 1% or almond milk. Pure Protein rich chocolate (Walmart) is good and has 25 protein and 160 calories, sugars 2. I like Unjury strawberry and chocolate sugar 2, protein 21 and calories 100. I like Unjury chicken soup 90 calories, no sugar and 21 protein, hospitals serve Unjury. I also add a 1/2 scoop of unflavored whey and it bulks up your shake. Since starting the fast, I have lost 5 lbs. Now, why can't I do this without the surgery LOL LOL oh well, good luck. Oh, when making your soup do not heat it above 140 degrees it lumps up. Ask your dietitian if they give out samples of shakes and vitamins. Great success.

I didn't have any problem after surgery with the flavor of protein shakes, luckily. My faves are Premier Protein caramel (tastes like a caramel milkshake to me), and the strawberries & cream, cinnamon roll, and the cake batter flavors are good. The Fairlife chocolate protein shake has 30g protein and tastes like chocolate milk. The Pure Protein chocolate peanut butter shake is like a liquid Reese cup. It's an easy way to get 30g protein for me.

I like Fairlife. If you look at the ingredients, they don't add whey protein. They just filter milk until it's super protein rich. If I had to guess, it's much like Diane's Magic Milk. Milk added to milk makes power milk. It's in recipes if you do a search.

You can also doctor up any protein shake or magic milk to suit your own tastes.
