Protien Bars

Is anyone else having a protein bar instead of a protien shake? Is it ok?? I don't know which is better for you to have? I like biting into food as a posed to drinking it.
It depends on if you need to be on liquid diet or not, otherwise they seem the same. Protein bar has more calories I think? And sugar alcohols.

I've never tried a protein bar. I've only had protein shakes, and even 10 months after gastric bypass, I still have at least 1 shake a day. I just can't seem to get enough protein through diet alone. I'd be interested in how others view protein bars vs shakes.

Are you eating the protein bar without drinking water (as required)? That would be my only concern. A protein bat is so dry and solid. Can you swallow and digest it okay?

I am allowed both, but the bars have less protein (at least every one I have seen) and more calories, sugars, carbs, etc. Where as the protein shake is higher protein and less of all the other stuff.
Both good in different ways.

Lena, you're far enough out that you can choose bars or shakes whichever works for you. But unlike the beginning, calories start counting the further out you are, so keep an eye on them. Some of those bars are crazy high in calories. Some are not. Choose wisely.
