Hi Katie- I had a sleeve, so I can't say I personally have had your problem. I have read of others that had a side pain. You have had major surgery. You need to take this to your doctor immediately if you haven't already!I am one week post op. Today I feel like I have such a stitch in my side. Is this normal?
I had RNY, lapband removal and my gall bladder removed.
HI! Thanks! I have chosen to do the Sleeve. Preperation time is 6 months, so I'm guessing I'll have the surgery in Dec or Jan. I've been plugging through the site here and I'm learning a lot.Hi Kate P. Welcome to the group. What kind of surgery are you having? Or do you know yet? How long will you be in pre-surgical preparation? You'll find all kinds of experiences among the members here. And look through the older postings if you want to catch up or get to know us.
I had the same thing. It felt like my stomach muscle was deeply stitched and actually made an indent in my right abdomen. The pain was terrible, but i reached 17 days post surgery and there was no more pain, so hang in there!I am one week post op. Today I feel like I have such a stitch in my side. Is this normal?

- Any chance of it being trapped has bubble? Try gas x.
- Where my port was from my lap band was my most sore spot. They had to scrape a lot of scar tissue away to remove port.
- I hope you figure it out and feel better soon.
Not gas as the pain is constant and it’s on the left side not the side where the port used to be. It’s just scary. I have an appt on Monday but if it doesn’t get better I foresee another trip to an er![]()
Monday is a long time away. Can you phone your doctor in the morning and ask to get in right away? This is a sort of thing a doctor really wants to follow up on. But they won't know there's anything wrong if you don't tell them. Your complaint sounds very similar to a lot of others here, but when it comes to pain, don't ever ignore it. Not ever. Pain is a signal from your body that something is wrong. You need to find out what that is.

Is it warm to the touch? If so, could it be an internal infection?? I sure hope not and I sure hope your pain will go away soon.
I been in touch with the dr office. They know about the pain. Saw one of the surgeons when I was transferred and they said it was probably because of all the work done on that side or scar tissue. But no other explanation as to why or what was causing it. Only thing is scar tissue doesn’t build in a weeks time.Monday is a long time away.
