I’ve been thinking about doing a bariatric reset and figured it might be more fun (and easier) doing it with others from this group. I’d love to connect with anyone who wants to get back to basics — focusing on protein, water, healthier habits, and just getting back into a good routine after surgery. It’s not about perfection or extreme dieting — it’s more about creating structure, improving portion awareness, and helping your body and mindset get back on track.

One common reset approach starts with a liquid diet for 2-5 days to simplify choices and focus on hydration and protein. After that, slowly reintroduce soft foods like yogurt, cottage cheese, eggs, and other easy-to-digest options before moving back into regular bariatric-friendly meals.

That said, everyone’s journey is different, so there’s no single “right” reset plan. Some people may follow a stricter schedule, while others may adjust based on what works best for their body, surgery type, or personal goals. The idea is simply to reset habits, rebuild consistency, and support each other along the way.

No pressure or judgment at all, just a group to encourage each other, share progress, and stay motivated. If anyone’s interested in joining me, comment or post a message!

I was thinking the same thing, but I have to do something with my refrigerator stock, including expensive meat and produce. How about you? Are you close to being ready for it? I'm pretty sure I have more than a week's worth of food and I don't want to gobble it down or throw it out. Let me know what you timeframe might be.

Thank you. Anyone else? We'd love to have you.

I started today! I'm going to visit my parents and sister's family sometime this month, the plans are so up in the air right now, but they are all difficult to be around food wise - constantly eating out and snacking. I thought it was best for me to start right away so I am in a better headspace when I see them. Anytime you are ready to start is fine, we don't have to be on the same schedule.

This is my lineup for today . . . . I like a lot of variety!
And not that entire bottle of Minute Maid, I refill the larger water bottle throughout the day and have a glass of the fruit punch later at night!

Here's an important question. When I was in the liquid stages back in 2007+, I bought a whole bunch of Premier Protein. I actually hate the stuff, but I choked it down. And I had several cartons left over. I want to know if they're safe to consume almost 20 years later. I read the entire label--no luck. So I wrote to the manufacturer--no answer. Can anyone enlighten me?

I wish you both (and anyone else joining you) the best with this!
You should just flash your gorgeousness at them and smile like a Cheshire cat. You've definitely got it going on. Curses on them!

I can't win with my family. Not only will they find an argument against anything I believe, but they gang up on anyone they choose when they're jealous. I can't remember the last time I visited them. That's the advantage of living 125 miles away.

Best of luck to you!

The shakes should have an expiration date on them. At least the ones packaged now do. Maybe the ink on your shakes faded over time? Don't drink them!

I think you need to chuck them. Don't drink them!!!
I think you're right. They're only in paper containers, like milk cartons, though they are lined with foil inside. I hate them anyway!! I mentioned Trader Joe's nutritional powder in an earlier post. I have one vanilla and one chocolate. I really hate heavily processed food, especially after watching that t.v. show "How It's Made." That show put me off so many things I used to eat. Thanks for the tip, girl.

I bought some approximately 2 months ago. On my box the best buy date is December 2026. I wouldn't trust the really old ones.

Day 3 of the reset half way done! Honestly the hardest part was day 1 because I just felt like chewing. Got some gum and fixed that issue. Funny how not chewing only bothered me the first day!
That's great! I think I'm going to do a reset starting next Monday or Tuesday.

I like my Premier vanilla shakes with banana and organic powdered peanut butter mixed in. I definitely cannot drink them plain

Day 5 of the reset! Staying strong and will keep with liquids only through Sunday (1 week). I'll see how I feel Monday and decide next steps then. I will probably add a cottage cheese or yogurt for the 2nd week. Actually, forget the cottage cheese. I'm going to add a greek yogurt mix in (Oikos Remix or Dannon Light & Fit) starting Monday. These are great because they will add a small crunch to my diet which I do miss. These are pre-portioned Greek yogurt cups with toppings like cookie bits and chocolate. They are only slightly sweet, 160ish calories and super satisfying!
