So after much panic and fear of dying my surgery is complete. I’m bewildered by the high amount of pain I have had. At some point this has to stop right?!? I have 6 trocar marks which seems like a lot but idk. And I’ve managed half of the broth they brought me. Trying to stay hydrated but every time I take a sip I get the feeling that I was stabbed through the midline right side of abdomen.

Thanks for letting us know you're on the other side! :)

Sorry you're dealing with some pain, are they keeping you in the hospital a 2nd night? Don't be a hero, take the pain meds. Hopefully the pain will quiet down after another day or 2.

The pain gets better, for sure! I find it ironic that I have a harder time with pain on laparoscopic procedures than open ones. I think it is mostly due to the air they pump in to be able to see. But, it does get better!

I had a lot of pain also. I had 6 incisions, 5 were from the bypass and the 6th was from the gallbladder removal. A lot of my pain was because the nurses didn't want to give meds and they were making me wait 6-7 hours for an every 4 hours dosage. I spent 2 nights in the hospital, walked the halls a lot and drank my water. Once I got home, things got muchbetter within about 24 hours. This pain is allot but is worth it and is temporary. Oh, and I did have a lot on the right side also because that is where they take the gallbladder. I think that when both get done together it's just a lot for the body to handle!

Yes they kept me an extra night. I definitely took the pain meds. It’s much better now but that first 30 hours were rough!
