The most painful thing I’ve ever experienced.

Hi everyone. I got surgery yesterday and was sent home same day. I wasn’t prepared for the amount of pain I am in. I just wanted to post that here so you are maybe a little more prepared then I was. It’s worth it, but be prepared to HURT. I know this won’t be this bad for long and that the end goal is completely worth it.
I should add that this is just my experience. I’ve actually just now read some posts from people who said they had little pain. My goodness I wish that were me! Anyway, good luck to you and your journey!

Ohhh I am with you! Everyone warned me about that gas pain but I still wasn't even close to prepared! It was horrible! It does pass, by day 4 I was off all narcotics and over the counter pain meds.
Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Oh, man. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering. But the post warning everyone is good. I was lucky and had little to no pain. So, when my husband had his surgery, he was totally unprepared for the pain he was in. He had about 2 weeks of lingering pain and almost a month of occasional nausea. I felt really bad for giving him the impression it was all sunshine and roses.

On the upside, he's 6 weeks out now and is feeling perfectly fine. So, hang in there BV! It gets better.

It’s been 2 days since I posted that and it’s night and day. I am almost off the pain meds and everything. But those first two days I really was worried I’d end up in the emergency room. It’s so interesting how we all handle things differently! In recovery, I was next to two other patients who were both doing just fine! I was curled up in pain getting IV pain meds lol.
Anyway, thankfully everyone was right. It has subsided!

Oh my goodness, I couldn’t imagine going home so soon! I was in there 3 nights & 4 days because of the pain and trying to figure out why I had burning in my stomach… 10 months out and I still get it on an empty stomach. I hope you start feeling better soon!
