Hi everyone. I got surgery yesterday and was sent home same day. I wasn’t prepared for the amount of pain I am in. I just wanted to post that here so you are maybe a little more prepared then I was. It’s worth it, but be prepared to HURT. I know this won’t be this bad for long and that the end goal is completely worth it.
I should add that this is just my experience. I’ve actually just now read some posts from people who said they had little pain. My goodness I wish that were me! Anyway, good luck to you and your journey!

Ohhh I am with you! Everyone warned me about that gas pain but I still wasn't even close to prepared! It was horrible! It does pass, by day 4 I was off all narcotics and over the counter pain meds.
Good luck and I hope you start feeling better soon.

Thank you! It’s hard to believe I will feel better in 4 days so thank you for sharing!

I am sorry you are feeling such awful pain. I was one of the lucky ones who had minimal discomfort, and it was alleviated with Tylenol. I had a TAP block prior to surgery and am sure that was what helped.

Sorry you've had so much pain. It's like childbirth, everyone has a different story. Be prepared for the worst and hope for the best is about all you can do. But remember, each day will get better.

Oh, man. I'm sorry to hear you are suffering. But the post warning everyone is good. I was lucky and had little to no pain. So, when my husband had his surgery, he was totally unprepared for the pain he was in. He had about 2 weeks of lingering pain and almost a month of occasional nausea. I felt really bad for giving him the impression it was all sunshine and roses.

On the upside, he's 6 weeks out now and is feeling perfectly fine. So, hang in there BV! It gets better.

It’s been 2 days since I posted that and it’s night and day. I am almost off the pain meds and everything. But those first two days I really was worried I’d end up in the emergency room. It’s so interesting how we all handle things differently! In recovery, I was next to two other patients who were both doing just fine! I was curled up in pain getting IV pain meds lol.
Anyway, thankfully everyone was right. It has subsided!

I'm 3 weeks out and still experiencing pain and nausea. Not near as bad as in the beginning and every day is better. I told my surgeon about it and he said the pulling pain takes weeks to get over and the nausea seems to come and go with me. I think every one is different in recovery

Oh my goodness, I couldn’t imagine going home so soon! I was in there 3 nights & 4 days because of the pain and trying to figure out why I had burning in my stomach… 10 months out and I still get it on an empty stomach. I hope you start feeling better soon!
