I had GS 5 weeks ago and I still do't feel to good. I can only get a couple of sips down before i feel stuffed, my stomach feels like it closed and the food doesn't digest, which makes me sick and i throw up! I'm constipated as well! This can't be my new life? Has anyone had this same experience.....please share!!! i'm getting concerned and depressed.

Have you spoke to your doctor about it? I had my surgery 2 1/2weeks ago and I can already eat soft foods very easily. I have had nibbles of meat and had no problems. I have not had any nausea or digestion problems. My doctoy said if i get constipated to take Milk of Magnesia. If your constipated that might be why you are having problems eating and digesting. Talk to your doctor.

I'm sorry you're having a rough time. I agree that you should call your doctor, just to be sure he/she doesn't has concerns. They may also be able to prescribe something for the constipation.

And as Bill stated, it WILL get better for sure! :)

Dido to those that said talk to your doctor. With the pandemic it may be hard to get in, but just calling and talking to them should be possible. I am at 4 weeks today and feel fine. What your feeling shouldn't be the rest of your life, so talk to your doctor and start living the new you?

I've had great luck getting calls back from my doctors these past 10 days or so, hopefully they're all being as responsive.

This week makes 6 weeks since my sleeve surgery. I have not thrown up but nausea is way of life when I eat protein like poultry. For constipation try a probiotic. My doctor told me to take a stool softener Colace which did not work. The probiotic one of member recommended is real good. A

Sorry you aren't feeling well. I remember struggling right after. I too suffer from constipation. I'm barely getting down 50 oz of water and 50 grams of protein and I feel like I'm gaining weight. I'm 8 weeks post op and scale was down to 174 then up to 178 after using restroom twice yesterday at 176.

I had my Roux-En-Y on March 4th of this year. I've learned that taking two minutes between bites really helps on the pain & nausea. When it comes to drinking, I use a stainless steel thermos bottle filled with ice water and sip that every minute to minute and a half. It takes some time but it -does- get better.

It will get better. You have to figure what works for you. It is a hit and miss at times never get to worked up over what missed. Think about what you can have and the change that is to come

Sorry about what you are going through. Call your Doctor and don't give up on yourself!!!

I had gastric bypass Revision March 20th Hello everyone,,,,

Hi Nancy, I'm new to all of this right now. I only just learned that the surgeon my weight loss Dr referred me to for a consult is strongly recommending the full bypass surgery. We are leaning toward it since I've got some major health problems that can apparantly be reversed with it but we're a bit scared of it. I was just here trying to find out more about it. Everything is on hold right now but the surgeon said he is shooting for September or as soon after as he can with the pandemic.

Very good to meet you here too.
