Hi, Jimbo. Focus on protein and add your favorite food around it. I am currently in need of crunch. It just makes me feel better. So, for lunch, I've been having 2oz of turkey, 1oz of Swiss cheese on a few whole grain crackers. Triscuits are my jam. I really find that if I stick to protein and whole foods, the amount I can and do eat takes care of itself. *In the interest of honesty, I find that to be true but still F it up from time to time.
Diane is 100% correct about measuring and tracking, especially if you are one of us that can eat more than the "max" they led you to believe your pouch would hold. And I've been at this for 18 months and STILL grab about 25% more almonds than the ounce I'm going for. I bought a small set of 6 glass storage bowls that hold 1 cup. I eat a lot of my foods in those, since it saves me the extra step of measuring. My eyes have always been bigger than my stomach. And so many of us were raised to "clean your plate" that I still have to remind myself I don't have to stuff down those last 2 bites.
