Clothes

Everyone drops sizes so differently, it is hard to give solid direction on that one. I think having some smaller options is helpful, but I know that I skipped some sizes altogether, so I did little bursts of shopping for staples along the way as needed. I regret the times that I spent a lot on a new size that I didn't stay at for long... I had to really restrain and get just a few things that were more core items and/or that could shrink with me (a lot of layering type items).

I made the mistake of buying a bunch of stuff, because I am required to dress for business at work. No business casual, either. (Okay, and honestly, I like to shop! lol) And in seemingly 2 seconds it is now all too big. So, I suggest buying only a few basics, STRETCHY basics. I have picked up a few dresses, because they're okay fitted with an oversized sweater or blazer and they're okay loose with a belt. So, they'll last longer than a suit or dress pants/blouse. And tights are way cheaper than pants.

I am working from home so all I bout was 3 pairs of sweatpants and two sweatshirts. 1 month post I lost 12 pounds for a total of 26 down. I went from a xl top to a medium top. I wear jeans when I have to run into the office, but usually with in about 10 mins they are falling off of me. I have not bought new jeans as I buy expensive jeans and refused tonif I dont need to, therefore I dont know what size I am actually in. I really could stand to buy new underwear and bras as my underwear dont stay up the best and my bras are now too big around.....but nobody sees them so I'm not buying anything yet!

Buying bras is literally the WORST .. who even knows what size I'm in? Did the cup shrink? Did the size shrink? What freaking size do I need?!?! I can't seem to get it right, even using their stupid "Measure Here and Here For Your Size" chart. I finally bought a sports bra and I'm done. As you can tell, I'm still angry about the whole experience

I'm still preop but I was wondering, how fast do you derp clothing sizes after surgery? Any recommendations for clothes (should you pick up some smaller ones before surgery?)?

I went with pants that had drawstrings. It was just way easier than trying to buy clothes every few weeks or month. I would truly suggest just buying something that you could use longer than just a couple of weeks.

A friend of mine bought scrubs. She could tighten up the waist and it worked well for her. There will be time when you will want to buy tops, bottoms in your new sizes and when that happens buy yourself some things.

Everyone's body is different. People have different types of surgeries as well. Weight loss will be different for most everyone. No true way of knowing how fast you will or wont drop the weight.

Best of luck to you on the amazing life altering journey!

Unfortunately or possibly thankfully I do not have to shop for clothes because i have worked for home for the past 10+ years but more importantly I have a wide range of clothes that I "grew" out of over the years. The other day I was joking with my wife that I got new tshirts, all i did was go thru closet and found smaller tshirts. The shirts that I was wearing prior to surgery were hanging down to my knees.

And because of the virus, not being able to try clothes on is rough. Since my body contouring, I've just been ordering clothes online and then shipping most right back! I have no idea what size I wear at this point!

Thankfully, I'm still working from home so leggings, yoga pants and tees are acceptable. When I have to be on camera, I throw a jacket or cardigan over the tee. ;)
