I went to 2 grocery stores this morning. One had almost NO produce. The other one, ALDI, was fully stocked. I’ve also read that Asian supermarkets are very well stocked, so if you have any in the vicinity, you might check it out.On the plus side, I'm afraid to eat anything because I feel like I need to ration it for a year. If they don't replenish fresh fruits and veggies in the markets soon, I'm afraid I'll be eating nothing but nutritionless ramen for the next 3 months. Also because I'm a wreck and don't know what to do with myself, I've been walking to get the mail. That's almost a mile a day.
Truthfulness... I'm really scared. Not of gaining weight, but about getting the flu. I have COPD and it will be a rough go for me. I've also read that there are following wartime protocol when hospitals hit the curve... And I know what that means for my age group and BMI.![]()
It’s great you’re still exercising at home. I’m doing exercises with my kids since they don’t have PE time. Yesterday we did yoga, today walked. When the weather is nice I’d like to get them outside, at least for walks. It’s hard for them being so restricted. They’re very active kids, so this sucks for them. For me kinda sucks cause I just joined a gym and can’t go . But I’m exercising at home anyway . Also I have a AMC movie membership but can’t go to the movies because they shut down the theaters. On the plus side some new movies will be coming out on demand so you can watch them on tv that’s cool
I’m an extroverted introvert. Basically after I do anything social I hibernate for a while. Going to the store this morning was very anxious for me because there were about 150 people in line to get in. I was about 15th in line, and got in and out fairly quickly, but that amount of people in a small store was terrible. As an introvert social distancing works for me. I am still going to work every day. They have not shut the office down. Weekends will be spent foraging for food and pantry items. Oh joy!
I feel for you! I’m used to only having my fur babies all day with me too. Our school is sending emails with work (I guess) that will review the first 3 quarters by Monday. Until then I have found a lot of great edu apps and good YouTube videos for them to watch.Well, it is a little overwhelming in our house - I'm recovering from hysterectomy (thankfully before everything when nutso), my oldest is here from NYC temporarily because his employers both shut down and he is doing remote work, my younger son is going stir crazy because he just wants to go hang with friends and go clubbing, and baby girl suddenly has me as a new homeschool teacher for first grade (pray for me, seriously), all while hubby is now working from home and I already was working full time from home. I am used to just having fur baby office mates, and now EVERYONE is here, LOL>
Around me the first hour at the stores are for seniors. My father in law is at risk if he goes out, so I recommended amazon pantry for his shopping needs. My anxiety just comes from the crowds. I don’t like being around a lot of people anyways.I'm just trying not to allow anxiety the best of me. It's the lack of resources that scares me. I'm still recovering from my surgery so I can't fight crowds or do much lifting. So shopping is the last thing I should be doing right now. So I tried to place a pickup order online but just got a message to try again later because there were no pickup times available. I wonder what disabled or elderly people who can't shop for themselves are doing?
I’m sorry about your daughter. I’m glad they got her in quickly. I’m hoping the stores will be able to restock soon, and people will stop panic buying!I took my daughter who is fighting pancreatic cancer to the ER/ED last night and we were rushed right in and put in a private room with glass doors and everyone wore masks. It was great. Now mind you, our county has only one confirmed case. Arizona hasn't been hit very hard. I got a text from my surgeon telling all his patients things will continue with just more due diligence but surgeries haven't been cancelled. We have lots of produce but canned beans, tortillas, paper products, cleaning products, eggs and water have empty shelves. Oh, frozen veggies and pizzas are also in short supply.
