The Struggle - March 22nd

Hello again. I had a really great week last week. I had my mother in law, son and his g/f over for St. Patty's dinner. Someone had to eat all that corned beef my husband bought. We also celebrated our anniversary and it's always lovely to get away, even if it's only for a night. Plus .. champagne!
Last weeks Successes: I did meal prep my breakfasts and lunches for the week, which really just keeps me on track. We did a little shopping and I finally got to actually try on clothes. And bought my very first pair of size 8 jeans!! Well, at least my first size 8 since before middle school, so I'm saying EVER!
This weeks Goals: I'd really like to lose a pound. I have spent about 3 weeks fluctuating the same pound. It's the difference between 159 and 160, and I feel like I need to be under. Which is probably just mental BS, but that's the struggle, isn't it?!?!

Love your new picture Missy and Happy Anniversary! Glad you had a good week and love hearing about it. Congrats on the size 8!!!

My NSV this week is that I increased my outdoor walk. It use to be a struggle for me just to get the mail out of the mailbox but now I not only walk around the block but down to our neighborhood farm! I was listening to music and the song "I Get Around" by the Beach Boys came on and I just cracked up. Yes, I sure do get around these days and proud of it!

Diane, you are not kidding about body dysmorphia. I still so often see fat Missy. The face you can't help but notice has changed but the body .. forget it. If I walk past a window or mirror when I'm out, I'm like HEY! Who's wearing my outfit?!? Oh, that's me. And it's almost like the person I thought was cute a second ago magically becomes fatter. I remember Brenda saying a while back that no matter what, being a "fat girl" was as much a part of her as her eye color. I feel that damn near everyday.

Congrats on your anniversary! Sounds like you had a fun week!
Struggle for me last week was tracking. I’d been doing so well, and I just basically stopped. I’ve been at a stall for a few days, but not letting it get me down.
Goal for this week is to start tracking again, even if it’s just to make sure I’m hitting my protein goal.
A success would be that I’ve lost 90 pound since I started my WLS journey in January 2020. I’m really proud of that.

Kudos to everyone who did healthy things last week. I really upped my physical activity. I'm starting to walk around without my cane. I can go to the grocery store, park further away than usual, and have staying power while in the store.
Last week I lost 3 pounds. I'm trying to hang onto that this week and lose at least one pound.

Way to go!!! I'm so happy for you! I know what it is like to not have to use the cane anymore. However, if it helps you to walk further than you would normally, that is okay too. :)

I use Baritastic. It doesn't really give more detail but I like that you can set reminders to take vitamins, eat, etc.
I just logged into this app. Says I already had it. Don’t remember setting it up but today I started using it. I will add my vitamins to it also. Still trying to understand the food logging part of it. Drove myself crazy trying to find where to add surgery date. I checked out the calculator which determined my weight at 70% will only go down to 180 -171. Only time will tell.

I was told by my team that you can expect to lose 60-80% of your excess weight. So if you are overweight by 100lbs, you should expect to lose around 70lbs. However, during that first year, you may lose more. But they expect that you'll be able to keep off around 70% of your excess weight at the 5 year mark.
