Day after surgery

Aww, sorry you're having such bad pain. Did they send you home with pain meds? Made sure you are taking them as you need them. And though it can be hard to get up and walk when the gas pains are really bad, that is the single best thing you can do to get it moving so, every chance you get, walk a bit. You'll feel better soon. Hang in there, Bec.

Try placing a large heating pad across our shoulders and back. The gas generally escapes up your body and out your shoulder and neck area. In the hospital, they told me heat would help draw it out. I honestly don't know if that is true or not, but at worst the heat felt really good, and for what it's worth, it seemed to help my gas pain release process go quickly.

I had gel bandages that dissolved on their own and didn’t bleed or leak. I was prescribed something for gas pain. I can’t remember what it was and didn’t end up needing it. You may want to check with your surgery center about that and if your incisions are leaking.

Thanks guys! This morning has been the only painful gas so far. New question...how long did it take for your incisions to heal? Did they bleed randomly still once you got home?
Please call your surgeon. One of my incisions started to bleed all of a sudden 5 days out and wound up with a serious infection, even though I acted fast on it. It may be nothing but I would strongly advise giving your doctor a call.
