One week post op and most challenging thing has been getting in and out of bed. Have been sleeping in recliner/rocking chair since I got home. Surgeon had some trouble with all the scar tissue from previous C-Sections (2)...maybe why it is harder to get out of the bed.

Didn't get enough protein 1st week but had first protein smoothie today so hope to get better at the protein.

Weight seems to be coming off pretty easily...actually gained weight after surgery stay of 3 days with IV fluids but lost that 3 days after coming off the IV fuids.

Hope everything keeps going as smoothly as it is...

Had my surgery on the 11 th so we are at about the same place. Can't wait for a protein smoothie! I too am sleeping in my recliner. Can't seem to get comfortable in bed and it hurts too much to get up. Hoping this gets better in the next couple days :) keep up the good work and hang in there.... I hear its all worth it in 6 months.

Gastric Bypass on February 12, 2013

I am new to this site and when I had replied to another person, it showed that my surgery date was their surgery date...so that is a bit confusing to me....mine was on Feb 12, 2013....would enjoy talking to others on their journey....I began in Aug of 2012 at 270....by the time I got the OK for surgery I had lost 26 pounds...and day of surgery it was 244.....am now at 231....don't know if that is good or not...well, yes it is good....hope someone can reply and buddy up.....need all the help and support that is allowed...LOL thanks for listening.....Rin

Congratulations....you have a better outlook than I did at a couple weeks.....I tried to reply, but it went somewhere else...I am new and can't figure this out....it posted today at 11:32.....I am 4 weeks post op.....hope to hear again from you on your progress....make sure to take the one month photo each month on the same day....I get 1 percent better each day....Good Luck...talk to you soon, I hope...Best regards....Rin

Hang in there guys! It took about a week before I could get in and out of bed without wincing... but it DOES get better... I PROMISE! My 4 week anniversary was just yesterday, and I couldn't be happier with my decision and feel so much better already!

Thanks for all the well wishes! Just got back from my first trip to the grocery store and was surprised at how much energy I had. One of my biggest issues prior to surgery was chronic fatigue. Hope this energy level keeps up. Think I am doing okay with the liquids and protein amounts but can't wait for pureed phase. Bought items today for that phase.

Thanks again for your support.
