Excited, anxious, a little fearful. Would love to connect with others! Open to all support and product suggestions ... already in therapy and scheduling appointments with nutritionist. Anxiety leads me to Amazon, where I've purchased blender, immersion blender, bariatric cookbooks, BiPro protein powders, ProCare multivitamins and Vitamin C supplements, etc etc. What have you found most

Hi Nancy it's great hearing from you here. You'll find a lot of nonjudgmental support here. No one has any hidden agendas. We exist only to provide a safe place for advice from caring friends.

Diane is correct about needlessly spending $$ on bariatric products unless that is your preference. Case in point. I just got the results back from my 6 month bloodwork before my 6 month checkup on Wednesday (gastric bypass July 12th). All of my vitamin & mineral levels, plus blood sugar, thyroid levels etc were normal. I do have to take my B12 tablet every other day, the same as my iron supplement, because my B12 level was a little too high.

The point is that ALL of my vitamins & supplements, including my daily Centrum-like multivitamin with minerals are Kroger's brand. The ONLY exception is my prescription iron supplement. I have never taken a so-called bariatric supplement. No gummies other than my Hair Skin & Nails biotin gummies. Just store brand pills, usually buy 1 get 1 free, yet my bloodwork came back perfect.

This is not medical advice, and I'm not doing this for the purpose of bragging. I just hate for anyone having to spend money unnecessarily. Good luck with your upcoming surgery!

Help, I cannot find your list. Where is it? I’m new at this (sigh).
Find the little lightening bolt in the top right corner & click. It will take you to "What's new." Scroll down past the new posts and find the "Latest resouces" section. There you will find Diane's diet plan and lots of other helpful articles. Hope this helps.

I agree with you Diane about that pre-surgery buying article. The one about surgery day experience is very interesting & helpful also. I am so glad these resources are there to give practical tips & advice to newbies and the rest of us.
