Malabsorption Issues

Hello, my name is Tara and I am new to this site. I had a RNY in 3/2013. Recently I have been having lots of issues that doctors are relating to malabsorption. 10/1/21 I ended up in the hospital with a extremely low hemoglobin count and low blood pressure, which also caused kidney injury. I had to be put in the ICU and have a blood transfusion. They told me I almost didn't make it. I was just wondering if anyone else had any of these kind of malabsorption issues?

Oh my goodness! I’m just over a year out, so I haven’t had any malabsorption problems. What are your doctors recommending to treat the problem on the long term?

Yikes! So sorry you are having such a serious problem with malnutrition and hope they can get you back to good health. Just curious if you have been taking vitamin supplements and having bloodwork done this far out from your surgery.

Are you taking vitamins as directed ??
I couldn’t stomach the bariatric kind so they put me on centrum morning and evening
Are you still getting nutritional bloodwork labs done yearly ? If not go back to a bariatric doc for checkup .
Regular docs don’t deal with nutrition for the most part .

Have you tried Creon or other brand for enzymatic insufficiency??
